2022 DIII Analytical All American and All Region Teams
Hansen Ratings, the premier provider of Division III college
football ratings since 2014, is proud to announce the release of its 6th
annual 2022 Division III Football Analytical All-American and All-Region teams.
The All American teams are led by players of the year QB Kobe
Berghammer of UW-Oshkosh, DL Drake Neuberger of Marietta, K/P Jack Drake of
DePauw, QB Bryson Rollins of Maryville (Tenn.), and HC Chris Winter of
Wartburg.
Kobe Berghammer led the Titans to the tune of 302.8 total yards per
game. Among players with at least 100 dropbacks on
the season, Berghammer ranked 11th in opponent-adjusted passing
efficiency and 7th in rushing efficiency, while competing against
one of the toughest schedules in the nation.
Drake Neuberger repeats as the Defensive MVP, following up his 2021
season with an even more impressive 2022. Drake ranked second nationally in
sacks and tackles for loss per game, while also adding 88 tackles, an interception,
a block, and a safety.
Jack Drake's leg was an asset for the Tigers all season. As a both
punter and kickoff specialist, Jack was among the most efficient and productive
in the nation, but he also excelled in handling all the team's field goals over
40 yards, making 3 of 4 on the season.
Bryson Rollins joins an esteemed list of previous Freshmen MVPs,
including Blaine Hawkins (2021 Gagliardi winner) and QBs Luke Lehnen and Broc
Rutter of North Central (Ill.). Bryson ranked in the Top 100 nationally in
passing & rushing efficiency, while also ranking 15th in total
usage.
Chris Winter led the Wartburg Knights to an undefeated regular
season and their first ever semifinal. The Knights' playoff path was anything
but hospitable, needing to defeat two Top 10 opponents in the first two rounds
before defeating Aurora in the quarterfinals.
The Hansen Ratings All American and All Region teams are determined
by mathematical formula. Players are awarded for efficiency, volume, impactful
plays, and quality competition. All Division III football players are eligible
for selection. The main metrics in the calculation are Total Adjusted Yards per
Play (TAYP) and Yards Above Replacement Player per Game (YARP/G).
Coaches of the year are selected based on the overall success of
their team, by how much they improved this season, and by how far they exceeded
preseason expectations.
