Team Metrics
AdjEff - Opponent-Adjusted Efficiency - A team's projected
margin of victory against an average opponent on a neutral field
AdjO - Opponent-Adjusted Offensive Efficiency - A team's projected
points for against an average team on a neutral field
AdjD - Opponent-Adjusted
Defensive Efficiency - A team's projected points allowed against an average
team on a neutral field
AdjHFA - Opponent-Adjusted
Home-Field Advantage - The expected positive/negative difference in team
performance from a neutral field to home/away
Typical Top 25 Team - A hypothetical team with an AdjEff
rating of +30
Elite Team - A hypothetical team with an AdjEff
rating of +36
Good Team - A hypothetical team with an AdjEff
rating of +18
Average Team - A hypothetical team with an AdjEff
rating of 0
MOV+ - Margin of Victory Plus - How much more or less you ve outscored
your opponents than a typical Top 25 team would be expected to
SOR - Strength of Record - The likelihood a typical Top 25 team would
have a W-L record at least as good against the same opponents
E+ - Elite Games - The percentage of games where a team performed at
an elite level or better
G+ - Good Games - The percentage of games where a team performed at a
good level or better
A+ - Average Games - The percentage of games where a team performed
at an average level or better
BA - Below Average Games - The percentage of games where a team
performed at a below average level
EAW - Elite Adjusted Wins - How many more/fewer games the team has won
than an elite team would be expected to win
GAW - Good Adjusted Wins - How many more/fewer games the team has won
than a good team would be expected to win
AAW - Average Adjusted Wins - How many more/fewer games the team has
won than an average team would be expected to win
Pool A - The pool of playoff bids available to conferences' champions
Pool B - The pool of playoff bids available to independent teams or teams
in a conference that does not have an automatic bid (every DIII football
conference currently has an automatic bid, and not
enough teams are independent to qualify for any Pool B bids)
Pool C - The pool of playoff bids available for teams who did not receive
a Pool A or Pool B bid
SOS - Strength of Schedule - The average expected win probability of a
team's opponents against an average team
SOS+ - Strength of Schedule Plus - The average expected win probability
of a team's opponents against a typical Top 25 team
NCSOS - Non-Conference Strength of Schedule - The average expected win
probability of a team's non-conference opponents against an average team
Player Metrics
TAY/P - Total Adjusted Yards per Play - An efficiency metric that gives
boosts for positive plays and penalties for negative plays:
pTAYP - Playmaker Total Adjusted
Yards per Play - For defenders, the average yards prevented due to the player s
box score statistics
dTAYP - Defender Total Adjusted
Yards per Play - For defenders, the average yards prevented/allowed due to
their non-box score contributions to the overall team defensive efficiency
TAY/P+ - Total Adjusted Yards per Play Plus - Opponent-adjusted total
adjusted yards per play
HVC - Havoc Plays - Tackles for loss, pass breakups, interceptions,
forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, and blocked kicks/punts
YARP - Yards Above Replacement Player - How many yards an offensive
player added/a defensive player prevented relative to what a replacement player
would have accounted for
Replacement Player - A hypothetical player who has the average production and
efficiency of all non-starters at his position
